We study forced oscillations of a viscoelastic rod with a body attached to its free end. The other end of the rod is fixed. Detailed analysis is presented for the case when the mass of the rod is negligible in comparison with the mass of the body. We assume a general form of distributed-order fractional constitutive equation for the rod. The existence of the solution for displacement and stress is proved. Some previous results are shown to be spacial cases of the present analysis.
