We construct a U(1)-breaking nonlinear system which bears topological solitons with interesting properties. The symmetry is broken both spontaneously and explicitly. The model presented has TWO degenerate pairs of kinks and antikinks which can be transformed into each other by perturbations induced via external triggers and/or collisions. We calculate both the single soliton solutions and collision processes. These include simple scattering, pair annihilation, pair capture, and excitation-de-excitation processes.
