Properties of MUSIC-type imaging in two-dimensional inverse scattering

The main purpose of this paper is to study the structure of well-known non-iterative MUltiple SIgnal Classification (MUSIC) algorithm. We investigate a relationship between MUSIC-type function for imaging of extended thin electromagnetic inclusions or perfectly conducting cracks and Bessel function of integer order of the first kind. This is based on the structure of left-singular vectors of collected Multi-Static Response (MSR) matrix whose elements are measured far-field pattern. Some numerical examples are illustrated for supporting our investigation.
